The Flowing Path

Introduction

This website is a personal project, yet another small component of the huge and intricate worlwide web, which I made in order to share knowledge and talk about the stuff I like. Even though I have no specific theme in mind, as for now it will be mainly focused on language learning and dictionary making, and also on artists and music projects I listen and relate to.

The supported languages on this website are Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, English and in the near (I hope?) future Mandarin Chinese, which I started learning some months ago. For each page and article, you can find alternative versions in the supported languages. My native language is Portuguese, so I would like to emphasize at the very beginning that there will be mistakes (even in my native language), since everything written here is translated only by myself and my Portuguese could be better. In addition, the translations are approximate, so the same content might slightly differ in different versions. It actually depends on my mood to some extent, I tend to go more into detail when writing in Russian. Any corrections or suggestions regarding this (and not only this) are very welcome.

I also think it's worth mentioning that this website is hand-coded from zero and my knowledge is kinda limited yet, but it will be constantly changing and improving as I develop my HTML/CSS skills.

Why 水? Why "The Flowing Path"?

Water is the softest and most yielding substance. Yet nothing is better than water, for overcoming the hard and rigid, because nothing can compete with it. -- Lao Tzu

It's all about flexibility, about flowing around any obstacle and the willingness to change without limiting yourself to already known ideas and shapes.

Flow is the state in which people are so involved in an activity that nothing else seems to matter; the experience itself is so enjoyable that people will do it even at great cost, for the sheer sake of doing it. -- Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi
